In the latter half of the twentieth century, the increase in the use of nitrogen fertilizers (an 800% increase between 1961 and 2019) was a critical factor in increasing the productivity of traditional diets (more than 30% per person).

Modern information on the inorganic fertilizer sector in agriculture is of vital importance from an economic and environmental point of view, and it requires reliable and timely knowledge of production, consumption, and foreign trade.

Statistical report

Recently, nitrogen fertilizers have experienced stagnation in most developed countries. China, although it has become the largest producer and consumer of nitrogenous fertilizers. Africa relies little on nitrogen fertilizers. Agricultural and chemical minerals are very important in the industrial use of fertilizers, with an estimated value of $ 200 billion. Nitrogen has a major influence on global mineral use, followed by potash and phosphates. Potash production in Canada increased in 2017 and 2018 by 18.6%. According to conservative estimates, 30 to 50 percent of crop yields are attributable to natural or synthetic commercial fertilizers.

Prediction on fertilizer

Agriculture is the major contributing factor to the Indian economy. According to statistics, the Sectoral composition of the GDP is 17.9%. India is the second-largest producer of agricultural products. To produce more agricultural products without waste, technical progress is required in this field. In investigating the determination of nitrogen deficiency and the prediction of fertilizer consumption by cold, the cold images were taken in two stages. The leafy part of the plant is the main factor in determining nitrogen deficiency. While determining the deficiency, various characteristics such as texture properties, leaf area, etc., are extracted from the sheet image. Characteristic extraction is the primary key to determining nitrogen deficiency. Often farmers have little control over fertilizer use. Appropriate instructions are needed for the optimal use of these fertilizers and are required by farmers to obtain higher yields and avoid wastage. The research conducted so far only identifies nutrient deficiencies and disease detection. The proposed work identifies cold nitrogen deficiency, defines the area of the deficient zone, and predicts the amount of fertilizer consumption by these deficient plants. Therefore, identifying nutrient deficiencies is beneficial to the farmer for proper control of crop growth and optimal use of fertilizers.

Approximately 65% of the activity's fertilizer comes from imports, and 35% corresponds to the national industry. However, the growth in the use of domestically manufactured products in recent years has been remarkable. Thus, while the consumption of domestically produced fertilizers has increased by 650% from 2000 to date, the consumption of imported fertilizers has increased by 90%.

The 4.6 million tons of fertilizers used in 2019 set a historical record, increasing by 9% in relation to the previous year, and showing a continuously expansive trend since 2015 to this part, coinciding with the improvement in the package. Technological and diversification of production plans to include more cereals in the rotation. The number of nitrogen fertilizers was 2.6 million tons of the total used last year, followed by phosphate fertilizers with 1.7 million tons, sulphur fertilizers with 0.20 million, and potash with 0.07 million tons. National production reached 1.7 million tons in that year, with exports of almost 300,000 tons.

In 2019, 3.2 Mt of fertilizers of different types were imported, representing almost 68% of the total use. In total, fertilizer imports demanded foreign exchange for the US $ 1,050 million. It can be seen that in the 2010-2019 period, fertilizer imports have grown by 34%, with spending in value terms increased by almost 12% in the decade. In 2018, the climatic conditions did not play in favour of the crop, while in 2019, Argentina achieved a record harvest of corn and wheat.
