For example, an increasingly urbanized India (cities are likely to comprise 40% of the population by 2030) will double the requirement for clean municipal water by 2020. The chemical sector has witnessed growth of 13-14% in the last 5 years while petrochemicals have registered a growth of 8-9% over the same period. Indian chemical industry is expected to register a growth of 8-9% in the next decade and is expected to double its share in global chemical industry to 5-6%.
