Some say that Chapatti came from the Egyptian Indus Valley civilization 5000 years ago. Others claim it was founded in East Africa and brought over to India. Chapattis are made from a firm but pliable dough made from flour (whole grain common wheat), 'Atta' in and water. Some people also add salt and/or oil to the dough.
