Freelance Book Composer / Typesetter / DTP Operator

We are inviting applications from experienced publishing professionals for the position of Freelance Book Composer / Typesetter / DTP Operator on a project basis. The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing professionally formatted, print-ready books using PageMaker or Adobe InDesign.

This opportunity is ideal for skilled freelancers with strong expertise in book layout design, typography, and pre-press preparation.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Typesetting and formatting manuscripts into professionally structured book layouts
• Designing page layouts with proper alignment, spacing, styles, and consistency
• Working efficiently on PageMaker and/or Adobe InDesign
• Preparing complete print-ready files with correct margins, bleed settings, pagination, font embedding, and layout uniformity
• Ensuring technical accuracy as per printing and pre-press standards
• Incorporating corrections, edits, and revisions as required within specified timelines
• Managing large-volume manuscripts while maintaining high quality standards

Bachelor’ s degree in:

• Graphic Design

• Printing Technology

• Publishing

• Fine Arts

• Computer Applications

Applicants must possess:

• Strong working knowledge of PageMaker and/or Adobe InDesign
• Proven experience in book composition and professional typesetting
• Clear understanding of printing specifications and pre-press requirements
• Strong sense of typography, formatting, and visual hierarchy
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to handle lengthy manuscripts and technical content
• Good time management skills and adherence to deadlines
