Freelance Project Engineer (Defence Equipment Manufacturing DPR)

We are seeking a highly competent and experienced Freelance Project Engineer on a project basis to assist in the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPR) for Defence Equipment / Defence Products Manufacturing Units.

The role is ideal for professionals with prior experience in industrial project planning and technical documentation who can support startups and entrepreneurs in evaluating the feasibility of setting up defence-related manufacturing facilities.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPR) for defence manufacturing projects
• Developing comprehensive manufacturing process descriptions
• Preparing process flow diagrams and plant layout concepts
• Identification and selection of suitable plant machinery and equipment
• Raw material, manpower, and utility requirement analysis
• Preparation of project cost estimates and financial analysis
• Conducting market research and demand assessment
• Assisting in the preparation of techno-economic feasibility documentation

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Electrical / Manufacturing Engineering

• Experience in preparing DPRs or feasibility reports (minimum 5 years preferred)

• MBA (Operations/Finance) or Project Management certification – added advantage

• Proven experience in preparation of DPRs or feasibility reports
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (preferably defence-related products)
• Knowledge of plant machinery selection and industrial project planning
• Ability to perform technical and financial analysis
• Understanding of project costing and budgeting
• Excellent technical documentation and report writing skills
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines

• 5–15 years experience in industrial project planning / manufacturing setup

• Proven experience in Detailed Project Report (DPR) preparation

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, plant layout, and machinery selection

• Ability to do project costing, financial analysis, and feasibility studies

• Preferably experience in defence or heavy engineering manufacturing

• Strong technical documentation skills

• Able to work independently on a freelance basis
