Description:
Synthetic resin istypically manufactured using a chemical polymerization process. This process then results in the creation ofpolymers that are more stable and homogeneousthan naturally occurring resin. Since they are more stable and are cheaper, various forms of synthetic resin areused in a variety of products such asplastics, paints, varnishes, and textiles. There are various kinds of synthetic resins; acetal resins, aminoresins, casein resins, epoxy resins, emulsionpolymers, hydrocarbon resins, polyamide resins, polyesters rubber resins etc. The classic variety is epoxyresin, manufactured through polymerization, used as a thermoset polymer for adhesives and composites. Epoxy resin is two times stronger than concrete, seamless and waterproof. Polyamide resinis another example of synthetic resins. Polyamide resins are products of polymerization of an amino acid or thecondensation of a diamine with adicarboxylic acid.
