Description:
Medium-densityfibreboard (MDF) is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwoodor softwood residuals into wood fibres, often in a defibrator, combining itwith wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperatureand pressure. Medium density fibreboard is made basically the same way asparticle board which is by gluing the fibres together with a resin and thencompressing the board under heat, later the board is cut into appropriatelengths after it has dried.
Advantages:
MDF is reconstitutedinto wood sheets in a variety of widths and lengths. Bonding is achieved by theaddition of synthetic resin adhesives, which are cured under heat and pressure.Paraffin wax is added to assist with water repellency, while other chemicalscan be added during manufacturing for more specific protection.
