PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Pure sodium hydroxide is a colourless solid. It does not occure in nature, but it is manufactured on a large scale due to easily availability of raw materials and its use in numerous chemical process. Because of its corrosive action on many substances, it is known as caustic soda. It is being used by wide range of industries. Paper and paper board, man made fibres, cotton textiles, aluminium, soap and detergent are the major users of caustic soda. It is also used in vanaspati, drugs and pharmaceuticals, dyes and dye intermediates, oils, chemical etc. With the increase of end user industries, demand of caustic soda is also increasing rapidly. There is good scope for setting up of caustic soda manufacturing unit.
