PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Expanded polystyrene bead is a product of styrene polymer in presence of low volatile hydrocortisone in presence of blowing agent. Different shape of the beads are prepared according to end use. Expanded polystyrene a polymer of styrene and is a thermoplastic. There is a large use of polystyrene as a packaging material, insulating material, costing material. It is insoluble in water and heat stable at 60°C-75°C. It is used for manufacturing ice cream cup, for making thin walled containers. It is used in packaging of precision instruments, household electrical appliances, food and medicine containers, fan motors, typewriters etc. It may be used for boxes of fruits, vegetables etc. The most promising market in India for expanded polystyrene sheet is for food-servicing items in Hotels, Hospitals, Restaurants, Institution and also for take away services. There is a good scope for new entrants.
