Glass is so much a part of our daily life that we cannot imagine living without it. Glassware is used both by the consumer as well as by the Government and industry. The primary aim of packaging is to protect the product from air, light, heat, cold, moisture dust, dirt etc. There are three raw materials for glass making, viz. Silica Sand, Soda Ash and Lime. These should be cheaply and freely available as a natural resource. The value of output of cosmetics industry is estimated at Rs.16 bn in the organized sector. Despite the downward trend in the demand of a large number of consumer products, the cosmetic industry continues to grow at a high rate basically of the entry of new players and globally known brands. There is a fair scope for new entrepreneur in this field.
