Poly acrylic acid is manufactured in India by few organized sectors only. Basic raw material for the production of poly acrylic is Acrylo nitrile. This basic raw material is imported from Japan and some European countries. Technical process know how also is not easily available in India. For the production of poly acrylic acid there is need of basic collaborators. Partly machineries may be imported. There is good demand of poly acrylic acid. There is pollution produce in this industry which can be controlled by proper treatment. As a whole it has fair scope for the new manufacturer if they produce proper quality of product. 3-4 in organized sectors are producing poly acrylic acid. About 60% of demand is fulfilled by own production and 40% of demand fulfilled by import. The industry may be classed as very prospective.
