POTASSIUM SILICATE (AS A BINDER FOR WELDING ROD) - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Potassium silicate is a colourless, shattered / granular compound. Potassium silicate is used for coating yields a weld metal of higher tensile strength and lower elongation than does the corresponding sodium silicate.
Potassium silicate may be used for the same purposes as sodium silicate, which is usually preferred because it is cheaper. Potassium silicate has much less tendency to form a white efflorescence when used in paints for coloured rural paintings. It is preferred as a binder in the manufacture of carbon arc-light electrodes to avoid the intense yellow colour of the light caused by sodium and its compounds. It is used for the manufacture of glass and refractory materials, detergent catalysts, adhesive, etc.
Also, it has uses in coating material in T.V. tubes, binder for cellular plastics. It is used for fire proofing and insulating materials.
New entrants can venture into this field.
