Mouth bacteria have been linked to plaque, tooth decay and toothache.The main purpose of toothpaste is to reduce oral bacterial flora and deliver fluoride to the teeth.
Nowadays, toothpastes are produced to serve multiple purposes at the same time and, thus, possess a complex chemical composition. The ideal toothpaste must have thefollowing properties: slight abrasion, froth, sweetening, bleaching and prevention of plaque, calculus and decay.
