Wick Stoves
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Wick Stoves is a very common household utility item. Kerosene stoves are widely available and affordable for urban population groups. A wide variety of portable kerosene stoves have been developed, which can be grouped into two categories, namely wick type stoves and pressurized stoves.
The wick stove is easy in operation and handling. It is a household item. It is absolutely free from the danger of bursting, as happen in the case of L.P.G stove, pressure stove. It is always ready to use at anywhere and at any time. It is a good item for cooking purpose. It is mostly used by rural people.
Simple stoves are constructed in the same way as oil lamps, which use a wick to draw fuel from the tank to the burner and which produce a lot of soot due to incomplete combustion. Improved kerosene wick stoves can have up to 30 or 40 wicks. A common design incorporates a series of wicks, usually made of loosely twisted or woven cotton, placed in a holder such that they can be moved up and down by a control lever or knob.

• Pressurized stoves may be very clean burning
• It is an alternative back-up technology for urban electricity users in case of power cuts.
