Start your own production Business of IV Fluids (BFS Technology): Profitable Business Ideas in Pharmaceutical Industry

Here is a Detailed Project Report on IV Fluid (BFS Technology), its process, market position, demands, investment opportunity and project financials. It comprises a comprehensive analysis of the industry. The report also includes plant capacity, requirement of land and building, raw material detail with supplier list, plant & machinery, flow sheet diagram, total Capital investment along with detailed calculation on rate of return, break-even analysis and profitability analysis.

IV Fluids also known as Intravenous Fluids are liquids injected into our veins to treat or prevent dehydration. It is used on patients of all ages, who're injured or sick or dehydrated or just undergone a surgery.

They’re one of the easiest and safest ways to rehydrate a patient.

Why is IV Fluid used?

Intravenous Fluids are used to stop Dehydration and Electrolyte imbalance. As we know about 75% of our body is water and when the water levels decrease, we call it dehydration. Now dehydration can be cured by drinking water and Electrolyte mixture. But when someone gets, extremely dehydrated, an electrolyte juice ain’t going to save them, this is when medical professionals use Intravenous Fluids, i.e IV Fluid.

Types of Intravenous Fluid.

There are two types of IV Fluid, Colloid and Crystalloid.

    Crystalloid IV Fluid.

Crystalloid is the most common IV Fluid used. It contains dissolved molecules that easily pass through our bloodstream. Saline, which is just salt and water, or D5W, which is Dextrose, meaning sugar and water.

    Colloid IV Fluid.

Colloid is large molecular IV fluids such as Albumin and Hetastarch. They’re hard to pass through our cell membrane and will stay in our blood vessels.

What is IV Fluid BFS Technology?

BFS or Blow, Fill Seal Technology is an automated plastic container manufacturing process such as bottles and ampoules. It ensures the container doesn’t get contaminated. It has been approved by USDA and MHRA. It has been used for the last 30 years with a record of 0.1 % contamination.

This process has various steps.

Step no. 1. Heating the polypropylene granules at 200 ±30 and blowing it inside the container. This forms a tube shape called Parison.

Step no. 2. The mandrel, or the “Fill Nozzle” fills the container with liquid.

Step no. 3. Seal the neck of the container and release it from the mould.

BFS takes about 10 to 15 seconds to produce one container.

Why is BFS Technology used?

The BFS technology is a faster, easier way of making containers. And as the end product of BSF is for Pharmaceutical industry and medical industry, it is important to use less time consuming tech as people's lives are on line.

Secondly, BFS has a good record with keeping the containers/bottles uncontaminated. It has been recorded that by using BFS we can erase 99.99% of contamination with only 0.1% contamination has been found on BFS manufactured bottles.

And these are the major reasons why we use BFS technology. Not only does it save a lot of time, it also provides clean and safer containers. And that makes them a lot samer and practical to use.

And that’s why it is USDA and MHRA approved and quite popular in the UK.
