3. The most effective industrial air filters are PTFE membrane filters. In applications involving high temperatures and high particulate loads, such as coal-fired power plants, cement manufacturing, and steel foundries, PTFE-coated filters are commonly used in dust collection systems to remove particulate matter from air streams.
4. If an autologous vein graft is not available, PTFE grafts may be used to bypass stenotic arteries in peripheral vascular disease.

5. PTFE is used in many bicycle lubricants and greases, which are used on chains and other moving parts that are exposed to frictional forces (such as hub bearings).
6. Some forms of dental floss contain PTFE.
